1. About Buy Pock

Buy Pock is a community-powered directory that helps people discover local businesses and organizations that demonstrate commitments to their communities — such as community allyship, accessibility, and diverse ownership.

We provide information, search tools, and community review features. We are not a marketplace, payment processor, or employment agency. Listings and reviews reflect user and business-submitted information that may be reviewed by our community and administrators; they are not guarantees of business quality, safety, or legal compliance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with involvement of a parent or guardian.

You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if we have previously suspended or terminated your account.

3. Accounts and Security

You may need an account to access certain features (for example, saving favorites, writing reviews, or claiming a business listing). You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.

You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any law or others’ rights, including privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or anti-discrimination protections.
• Post false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory content.
• Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems without authorization, including scraping in violation of these Terms or our robots rules.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through automated means that impose unreasonable load.
• Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.

5. Business Listings and Claims

Business profiles may be created by business owners, administrators, or derived from third-party sources (such as Google Places) to help communities discover local businesses. A listing does not mean we endorse a business.

If you claim a listing, you represent that you are authorized to act on behalf of that business. We may remove, correct, or deactivate listings that are inaccurate, duplicate, fraudulent, or harmful.

Unclaimed listings may remain visible until claimed or removed. Owners may update information, photos, hours, and commitment claims through owner tools subject to our review processes.

6. Reviews, Stories, and Commitment Claims

Users and business owners may submit reviews, stories, photos, and commitment claims. You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant Buy Pock a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.

You represent that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.

We may moderate, remove, or decline to publish content at our discretion, including content that appears false, abusive, off-topic, or inconsistent with our verification standards.

7. Verification and Trust Signals

Commitment badges, verification labels, and similar trust signals reflect our review process at the time of review — not legal certification or independent audit.

AI-assisted tools may help business owners discover potential commitments from their own websites or pasted text. AI output is draft material only; nothing is published as verified without human review and owner action.

You should not rely solely on Buy Pock labels when making employment, safety, health, financial, or legal decisions. Conduct your own due diligence.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, branding, software, and original content (excluding user and business-submitted content), is owned by Buy Pock or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted or with our prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may link to third-party websites, maps, or services (for example, business websites or Google Maps). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.

Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that listings, reviews, or commitment information are complete, accurate, or current.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUY POCK AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, IF GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Buy Pock and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the Service, users, or third parties.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification).

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
