Food is more than sustenance—it's culture, memory, and love on a plate. Our family recipes tell the story of resilience and community. We care because when people taste our collard greens and cornbread, they're experiencing generations of tradition that connects us all to something bigger than ourselves.
During the 2020 protests, we stayed open to feed demonstrators and provided free meals to anyone hungry. Miss Johnson said it best: 'When people are fighting for justice, they still need to eat.' Our dining room became an informal meeting place where activists planned peaceful demonstrations over sweet tea and fried chicken.
